Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla give a speech at the opening of the commemoration of The 48th of ASEAN Day (Asotiation of South East Asian Nations) at ASEAN Secretariat office, Jakarta, Monday (10/08). In his speech, Jusuf Kalla (JK) assesses that ASEAN has evolved into a regional organization that advanced and have contributed to economic growth for its member states and Southeast Asia has become an integral part of the development of the 21st century is the Asian century. However, JK also warned that ASEAN still has weaknesses in terms of resources and capacity, and the ASEAN countries should be able to resolve conflicts between the state and the region peacefully through dialogue on issues such as the South China Sea.
