Secretary-General of ASEAN, Le Luong Minh give a speech at the opening event commemorating 48th of ASEAN Day at the ASEAN secretariat office, Jakarta, Monday (10/08). In his welcoming speech, Minh estimates that in the course of the next 15 years or in the year 2030, ASEAN will become the fourth largest economy in the world, and within 5 years after the enactment of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) intra-ASEAN economies will increase from the current less than 20% of total trade to 30%. But he said that the success of these predictions will be measured by how the ASEAN community building efforts to benefit the lives of the people of Southeast Asia. (Aditya)
