The "Pinky Bus" moved out from Jakarta Governor office after launched by Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama and his wife, Veronica Tan, and the President Director of PT. Transjakarta on Thursday, April 21, 2016. The "Pinky Bus" is the articulated bus which devoted for women passenger only. Two "Pinky Bus" was launched by Jakarta Government and Transjakarta as a "gift" for commemorating "Kartini Day", to provide convenience and security for public transport users, especially women. Kartini is the one of Indonesian women's figure that fight for women's rights. Known as the pioneer of the revival of indigenous women, she was born in Jepara, Middle Java, April 21, 1879 and died in Rembang, Middle Java, on September 17, 1905. For the beginning, the buses will serve in the corridor 1, Jakarta Kota - Blok M at 5:00 am to 22:00 pm, and in early May will be added up to 10 units of buses that will serve all Transjakarta corridors. (JakartaBizWeekly/Aditya)
