Women activist held a poster during the solidarity action called "Candle for YY" following by hundreds organizations and women activist at Tugu Proklamasi (Indonesian Proclamation Monumment), Jakarta, on Friday, May 13, 2016. The action carried out to mark the 40 days after "YY" was raped and murdered by 14 boys in Bengkulu Province-Indonesia on April 2. She was going home from school when 14 boys gang-rapped and murdered her. Police swiftly apprehended 12 of the 14 alleged perpetrators, the which include her ex-boyfriend and two students from her school. Half of the suspects are aged 18 or younger.
