A total of 20 farmers from Kendeng Mountains, Central Java, casting their feet in cement, in front of the Presidential Palace, Jakarta on Thursday, March 16, 2017. Along with dozens of other farmers, they do act as a form of protest to reject the construction and operation of a state-owned cement factory, PT Semen Indonesia, which is still ongoing in the area of their farm, because it was considered harmful to the environment which would be detrimental to farmers. Previously, in August 2016, President Joko Widodo has decided to suspend the construction and operation of a cement plant for reasons to do an environmental impact assessment, but in February 2017, the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, signed new environment license , which is the basis of a continuation of cement plant to operations.
